The Lunar New Year is celebrated for about two weeks with gorgeous floats donned with dragons, dressed to the nines in traditional wear. The dancers and musicians follow along, singing, dancing, displaying magical fireworks, and you can feel all of this tremendous joy and positive energy.
They have a beautiful yearly custom of giving the gift of a red envelope (hóngbāo). The red color symbolizes good luck and prosperity. In passing the red envelope, primarily cash in different denominations is gifted, depending on your relationship.
