Thanksgiving Gratitude

It's 1621. The Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians share an autumn harvest feast together for the first time. Today, that day is acknowledged as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. Each year on the fourth Thursday in November, Americans gather for a day of feasting, football, and family...with some improvements on the food menu. Families gather around the table to eat delicious stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. It's a holiday dedicated to eating food after all. The Thanksgiving meals are so large that we all have leftovers for many days after the dinner.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are finally here and the deals are just too good to miss. However, aside from eating, shopping, and watching the parade, Thanksgiving, above all else, is about gratitude. It's a day where we give thanks for all we have and show our love and respect for all the people who made that happen. Say thanks to your best friends, super dad, loving mum, supportive sibling, and devoted partner. This is what the holiday is all about.

Gratitude is so important in our lives and not just on Thanksgiving. We need to make time each day to think about all the blessings we have been given and how wonderful life can be. Take time this Thanksgiving to look around at your family and friends and feel gratitude for the light and love they have brought to your life.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Karma and Luck family!
